Back in Black Sedum
Sedum. The really dark one! ‘Back in Black’ has darkest purple, near black leaves. Such a bougie addition to a mixed perennial border, the dark colour enhances all other shades of green. In autumn, plants are loaded with large cherry-red and vanilla flower heads. Sedum is one of the easiest to grow, but most rewarding perennials you can plant! Acting like a shrub in landscape design, these Sedum, or Stonecrop as they are known, thrive in sunny and dry conditions, producing incredibly substantial, succulent-like stems that are loaded with massive flower heads in late summer and autumn. If left for winter, the seeds provide food for birds, shelter for so many overwintering pollinators, as well as structural interest in the winter landscape. No.1 root. Height 20-24".

Growing Information
Upon Arrival:
It is very important to plant as soon as possible after you receive them. If it is necessary to store them for a short time before planting them, open the plastic bags. If the roots appear dry, soak them for a few hours in warm water. Store in slightly moist peat moss in a cold, but not freezing location until you can plant. They can also be placed in pots of soil if planting will be delayed for more than 2 weeks. Use any peat-based potting soil and pots with drainage holes.
Soak bare-root perennials in water for a few hours before planting. Unless otherwise specified, bare-root perennials are usually planted with the crown (where the shoots meet the roots) an inch below the soil surface. Firm soil gently to eliminate air pockets and water in well. Mark the area clearly since it may be a while before the plant shows itself.
Planting:
Plant Sedum in full sun. Space plants 26 to 30 inches apart when planting to give the Sedum space to grow. This easy-care plant needs at least 6 hours of sunlight daily. Soil should be well-draining because Sedum does not like wet feet, but the plant is not fussy about the pH and will be content in acidic, alkaline, or neutral soil. Drought-tolerant Stonecrop seldom needs water. Water the plant during an extended dry spell, but otherwise, established plants are fine without water. Do not fertilize Sedum.
Growing:
Remove spent flowers or dead growth, but pruning is not generally necessary. Pinch back new growth to create thicker, fuller plants.
