Growing Information
Planting:
Start indoors 9-10 weeks before your last frost. Gently press the seed into the soil surface, making good seed-soil contact. Do not cover seed with soil or other amendments. Use a heat mat and dome until germination occurs for the best results. Provide 12 hours of light a day. Up-potting will be required once roots grow through bottom of pot/tray. Keep soil moist until germination. After germination, let soil dry slightly between watering - do not let soil dry out hard at any point.
Growing:
Harden off plants once all chance of frost has passed over 3-5 days, in the shade if sunny. Do not let plants dry out hard if in pots or containers. When planting in the garden space 20" apart. Once planted in the garden, Javelin only needs water during times of establishment. Feed with a water-soluble annual flower fertilizer, high in nitrogen, low in phosphorus, once every two weeks. Plants will grow larger in the garden and smaller, more compact, in containers or pots.
