New Zealand Purple Castor Bean
Ricinus communis. Striking reddish-purple leaves. This variety of Castor Bean has smaller leaves than others. Grown for grand stature, with huge, tropical looking foliage and ornamental seed pods. Requires rich soil and full sun. Height 6- 10'. Poisonous if ingested. Approx. 10 seeds/pkg.

Growing Information
Planting:
Start inside 6-8 weeks before planting out in large peat pots. Soak seeds for 24 hours and cover with 1 inch of soil and provide a warm soil of 21 degrees C. Can also be planted directly outdoors after the soil warms up and after all risk of frost. Transplant after last frost into a full sun location, 2-3 feet apart.
Growing:
The richer the soil, the larger this plant will grow.
Please note that all parts of the plant are poisonous.
