Growing Information
Planting:
Start inside 13 weeks before last frost. Sprinkle the tiny seed onto soil surface and gently press them in; do not cover. Provide 12 hours of light daily, constant bottom heat at 21-24°c, and use a dome for moisture retention. Once germination occurs, discontinue use of bottom heat and dome. Transplant or move into a full sun location after last frost. Petunias need full sun but can tolerate 8 hours or more of light a day. Soil should be well-drained and fertile. Provide plenty of water and regular fertilizer for peak performance.
Growing:
Feed plants every 2 weeks with a balanced annual flower liquid fertilizer such as 20-20-20 or an organic alternative, to maintain constant blooms. Pinch back errant, long stems to encourage bushier growth. Deadheading is required to keep plants looking healthy and maintain continuous blooms. Space plants 12-18" apart in beds, or place 3 plants in a 10-12" container. With the Tidal Wave petunias, 12" spacing forces the plants to grow 2' tall, while wider spacing allows the plants to grow shorter and spread.
