Ricinus communis. Probably the largest variety with the largest leaves conspicuous white veining! It is like a temporary tree needing lots of room since they may reach a height of 6-8’ and width of 3-4’. These plants may have various coloured seed heads. They need rich soil and may need support. Growing Information
Planting:
Start inside 6-8 weeks before planting out in large peat pots. Soak seeds for 24 hours and cover with 1 inch of soil and provide a warm soil of 21 degrees C. Can also be planted directly outdoors after the soil warms up and after all risk of frost. Transplant after last frost into a full sun location, 2-3 feet apart.
Growing:
The richer the soil, the larger this plant will grow.
